I am looking for the best train to take. The only one I could find leaves at 11.30 am and arrives 10 pm at night! It's 10 hours - crazy! I would prefer to leave by 9.00 am. Are there direct services on holidays?

and why don´t you take the clean, quick and efficient bus linking both cities several times a day?

It may be that the schedules on renfe are not posted yet. I just traveled from SS to Madrid on Saturday by train - it was 5.5 hours and a very nice train. I snagged a great webfare of 23 euros which was the deciding factor for me between the bus and train.

Sorry, but there is no overnight train on that route. As CathyM says, the Renfe has not posted the spring schedule, so you will have to wait to book one of the two daily trains.
