Train from Lisbon to Toulouse

I'm having great difficulty finding out up to date information about the possibility of train travel from Lisbon Portugal to Toulouse France.

I have read on other forums about an overnight train, but the posts are several years old, so I'm wondering if that service isn't available any more.

I've taken a look at seat61, but can't locate details for that particular route.

If anyone can help me, I would be extremely grateful!! Di

It is a very long journey - 20 hours.
Train Lisbonne to Hendaye, train Hedaye to Bordeaux, train Bordeaux to Toulouse : http://www.sncf.com/en/passengers
Select Antartic as your country to avoid being sent to Rail Europe.
Have you considered flying?

WOW - what speedy responses!

Yes, Pv - our first preference was for flying, but Vueling doesn't have a flight available on the date we want (21 August), and other options are either rather expensive, or too indirect to be practical. Unfortunately Easyjet website says their flights Lisbon - Madrid - Toulouse don't continue past 28th March.

I'm watching to see if Vueling may possibly put on more flights closer to the date; I don't know enough about them to know if this is how they operate?

Thanks, thursday - I'll have to check that option out, Di

Have you checked TAPPortugal? they have direct flights which start at €123 right now but which will certainly be more expensive in summer.
Ryanair flies Porto to Carcassonne.
It is probably too early for Vueling summer timetable.

Yes, looks like TAPP is our best option so far.

Vueling do have dates available in August, just not the Thursday we are looking to travel. I've also discovered that their flight goes via Barcelona.

Ryanair isn't really a viable option; getting from Lisbon to Porto then Carcassonne to Toulouse probably eats into our limited days too much.

Thanks for taking the time to investigate, Pv! Di

TAP has daily direct flights, Lisbon-Toulouse, for as low as €187 one-way in August. Flight time is 1hr 55min.

Overland by train is so much more fun...

Lisbon depart 21:18 on the famous Sud Express, now an articulated trainhotel with cosy sleepers. Arrives Hendaye on the French frontier at 11:28 next morning.

Book at www.renfe.com (or if any problems, www.petrabax.com/renfe)

Then book Hendaye to Toulouse at www.capitainetrain.com.
