Train from FLR to Siena
We're flying into Florence in a few weeks. How close is the train station? We're heading to Siena uopn arrival.
Thanks. |
Hi T,
Florence SMN is about 15 min by cab. The bus station is close by on the Via Santa Caterina de Siena. I recommend the bus: it takes you into town and there is a compartment for luggage. ((I)) |
No one will understand what the header of your "other" post means...

Hi Terpgrad: I recommend taking the bus to Siena. The bus terminal is right next to SMN train station in Florence. Large, clean, comfortable buses with plenty of space to store luggage. The ride takes about 1.5 hours. The route is on a freeway but every once in a while you get a tantalizing glimpse of the Tuscan countryside. Buses leave every thirty minutes. The bus drops you off right in Siena at Piazza Gramsci, from there you can take a taxi or even walk to your hotel if it is close by.
