Train from Cinque Terre to Venice
I checked Trenitalia website to figure out how long of a train ride it is from Cinque Terre to Venice. I have found a route between Florence and Venice but am unable to find a route from Cinque Terre to Florence in order to switch trains. Please advise. Thanks.

What Cinque Terre village are traveling from?

Hi kct
we stayed in Levanto (right next to the Cinque Terre towns) and took the train midmorning to Milan (the route through Genoa) easily changed in Milan and arrived in Venice at sunset (springtime, though). I can't find the details, but we walked into a travel agent in Levanto and they helped us with this. (We had kilometric passes and I believe paid a supplement for the Milan-Venice route). Don't know if this helps. |
I would say that the route via Genova and Milan is the best route.
Livorno-Genova, Genova-Milan and Milan-Venice are major train routes. If going by Florence, you probably have to go south to Viareggio or maybe to Livorno before changing trains to Florence via Pisa. It is a long way around |
Use the Trenitalia website or www.bahn.de to get schedules. You need to enter the name of your station - the Cinque Terre are five villages, each with a railway station.
