Train from Ciampino Airport into Rome?

We are flying into Ciampino airport and would like to take a train directly into Rome. Is this possible and if so, does anyone know the stations we would need?

There is no train station at the airport itself, but the local bus goes first to the mainline railway station (from where you can take a train into Termini station - I like this option as you get good views of some ruined acqueducts along the way), and then onto the metro station, from where you can take the underground into Rome.

Larrainebp - Ciampino station is a 5-10 mins ride from the airport by Cotral bus. But be aware that trains from Ciampino aren't that frequent (- approx hourly - see www.trenitalia.com).

It's often quicker to catch the Terravision Shuttle bus direct to Roma Termini.

Hope this helps ...

Thanks for the websites - we found them very informative and have decided to catch the shuttle direct to the termini.
