Train from CDG airport??

OK...My GF and I are having an argument.

I've never been to CDG airport, or to France, so admittedly I am clueless.

I'm using raileurope.com and typing in: Paris CDG airport to Quiberon. I get results for ONE train leaving at 3:45p, going to Auray and transferring and transfer to Quiberon, arriving at 9:29pm.

She swears that I have to go to Montparnasse from the airport and then take a train from there.

I'm really confused. The raileurope site does not mention this.

My ultimate destination is to take a ferry from Quiberon to Belle-Ile, but my first search results on raileurope (mentioend above) gets me into Quiberon too late to get a ferry on the same day...so I've been looking into taking a train for CDG to Renne or Vannes and trying to get a room and then continue on the next day.

Does anyone know if I really have to go to Montparnasse first?

At http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en, I see that there are trains every hour or so. A few of them begin with a TGV from CDG, and the rest connect through Paris, either at Gare Montparnasse or Massy.

Anything that connects in Paris requires a trip on the RER B first - Montparnasse involves getting across town a few blocks by Métro, and connecting at Massy is a short walk at the same terminal.

Stop using raileurope.com to search for train details. And for most cases, don't buy from them either.

Anyways, the itinerary you're looking at is most likely TGV 8747 leaving Montparnasse at 5:05p, arriving Auray 8:22p. Then RE 55143 leaving Auray 8:45, arriving Quiberon 9:29p.

You GF is correct.

Please tell me what site I should use to search for train details and/or purchase tickets. Thank you!

Search for trains on www.bahn.de

Search for trains and buy tickets directly from www.voyages-sncf.com

Use the bahn site like everyone else suggests to determine schedules. Enter "Paris CDG TGV" as the departing location

http://www.reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en

Then us the SNCF site to buy the tickets.

Vannes & Rennes are lovely cities to spend the night - Rennes being much larger.
