Train from Bruges to Brussels on Sunday June 3?
I am planning to stay in Bruges from May 31-June 3. My flight leaves out of Brussels airport around noon on Sunday, June 3. I just went to the Thalys website to find the timetable for trains from Bruges to Brussels for that morning (which I put in as 03/06), and it said that there are no trains that day. Am I doing something wrong, or are there really no trains on Sunday between Bruges and Brussels? Are there buses?

Lisa,
You're problem is that you're looking at the Thalys website. The trains from Bruges to Brussels are not Thalys. They're IC trains leaving at 32 and 57 minutes past the hour, every hour. Trip takes about an hour and a half. Check the website

I just posted a similar answer where you put this message on another Thalys thread, citing the www.b-rail.be web site (Belgian national rail).

Lisa,
I made the roundtrip from Brussels to Brugge by train on a Saturday in December, and had to change trains on both legs. I'd done the same trip in the summer of '98 and am (almost) sure that the train went stright through then. It was luck that I asked a fellow passenger on the outbound trip, or I would have ended up in, I think, Ostend. The ticket counter in Brugge doubles as travel information, and the clerks speak fluent English. Ask about changing trains when you buy your ticket.

Joe brings up a good point. We had some confusion on getting around between Bruges, Ghent and Brussels last May as the tickets we bought (easily) at the ticket window listed the departure city and the arrival city but do not state if and when a connection is necessary. The conductors on the trains are very helpful in this regard.
And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but on IC trips like these, I don't believe that you are buying a ticket on a particular train at a particular time. I think it's good on any train that day that gets you to your destination.
