Train from Amsterdam to Berlin
I'm not sure if there is even a choice but we will be traveling between these two cities and want a train that goes from one to the other. Is the train convenient and relatively comfortable? Any information is appreciated.

Sure there are various options. Trains take 6-8 hours on that route, some direct, some needing transfer. I only know this from putting "trains Amsterdam to Berlin" in a Google search... so hopefully others with real life experience will chime in.

It's absolutely possible - even easy. We did it last year from Centraal Station in Amsterdam to the Berlin Zoo station, second class for two people, and it cost about 185 euro.
I wouldn't be surprised if there are better deals out there. The trip took about 6 hours and I believe there are several options each day. We left Amsterdam about 11:15 a.m. and arrived in Berlin about 5:15 p.m. If you want to reserve your ticket online before you leave, go to www.bahn.de. |
There is a CityNightLine from Amsterdam with a change in Duisberg to a NachtZug to Berlin. Save a day of your trip and a night in a hotel. Travel while you sleep. I love night trains. |
There is one train per day from Amsterdam to Berlin, leaving Amsterdam at 10:56, that doesn't require a change of train. Other schedules require changing in Duisburg or Hannover.
Another poster has already provided the German Rail web site where you can check the schedules. |
