train/ferry between Bruges and London or Ostende and London

Hi,
I am looking for details on transportation between Bruges and London or OStende and London. I know people did it sxeveral years ago: train from Bruge to Ostende, ferry to Dover, train to London. I am looking for information on the web now and can't find it. Does it still exist? It was a good alternative to Eurostar.
Appreciate if anyone can helpme to find the info.

You would have to take IC train from Bruges to Brussels Midi Station, transfer to Eurostar train to London St. Pancras station. It takes 1 hr from Bruges to Brussels, and 2 hr 30 minutes from Brussels to London. Transfer time in Brussels is 47 minutes.

The only passenger ferry from Belgium to the UK now is the Zeebrugge Hull overnight ferry.
You could get the Hook of Holland to Harwich ferry and a train from Harwich on a single ticket, but Eurostar will be easier, quicker and almost certainly cheaper.

but you could go to Dunkerque, no?

You can also take a train Bruges to Lille and catch the Eurostar to London there. But with Brussels you can get the ABS fare for 5 euros extra and pay for the train to Brussels -not Lille however as it is in France. Eurostar is absolutely the fastest way and probably cheapest if you book way in advance to get limited in number deep discounted tickets - www.eurostar.com for booking your own. For details on trains and Eurostar check www.seat61.com - for general info on trains www.budgeteuropetravel.com and www.ricksteves.com.

Only Brits go to Dunkerque to get back to Britain.

DFDS ferries (Dunkerque) are pretty grim as a rule. We use it because it is the cheapest with the caper, but if we go by car we don't use it.
I don't think they take foot passengers, or how you would get to Dunkerque to get the ferry even if they do.
Eurostar is the easiest option.

If you don't have a car, take the Eurostar. It's so much easier.
