We stayed at a great place in May of this year, it was only $125 euros per nite but I would higly recommend it.

Very cute, clean and nice bathrooms with full tubs/shower combo. Flatscreen tv's and comfy beds, plus a great location.

In the meantime, there are 2 low fare carriers flying the Paris-Rome route:

1) EasyJet flies 2x daily between ORY and CIA (there's an evening flight in addition to the morning one mentioned by goatee)

2) Vueling flies at least once daily between CDG and FCO

Ryanair makes no sense anymore on this route, unless the price differential is absolutely huge.

Hi! It doesn't sound like you have a Eurailpass? We're doing the double sleeper from Nice to Rome for about $214 USA total, not each, with our SelectPass Saver. We have used BETS Budget Europe Travel Service , I think, extensively for this trip since double sleepers are seemingly in short supply. They have also made several reservations on TGV trains in and into France, since they explained that Eurailpasses in France, are kind of like second class citizens often, and that 'catagory' of fare-once gone, is gone! BETS has been helping with train reservations, eurailpasses, etc since 1978. I 'heard' about them on another post...was a little reluctant to use them, then used them exclusively. Cannot say enough good about them if you want the peace of mind that pre-reservations bring. I always was a no-reservations traveller, but, it's a different world, at least for me this time around. The website for BETS, doesn't seem to take email, and they say they'd rather talk to you anyway since there's so many variables.Linda was wonderful, but so were the two other operators I spoke with. Very knowledgable!! and helpful--going that extra step...like a great travel agent. Their # is 1-800-441-2387 M-F, regular hours EST.
