Train Cordoba to Toledo

Sorry to be repeating a question. I think I saw a thread with this question a few weeks ago but can't find it now. I want to take the train from Cordoba to Toledo. Apparently this requires a change in Madrid and separate tickets. My question is, how much time do I need to allow in Madrid for the change? I believe the track in the station in Madrid leaving for Toledo is in a different section of the station from where I will get off coming from Cordoba? Thanks for your help.

We had a 30 minute turnaround and made it easily even though we made a couple of wrong turns at the Madrid Train Station. Below is the story. We LOVED Toledo!

Thanks, Tom. I've read your report recently, so maybe that's where I saw it! How long a walk was it from one section to the other? I tend to move more slowly than most.

If I recall correctly, there are basically two platforms, one on top of the other. I think the Toledo train in on the lower platform, and the Cordoba train on the upper platform (or perhaps I have it the other way around). In any event, I think you go out the platform, and take the stairs (or elevator) to go to the other. I rode both trains, but at separate times, but I think you will have to go through security again (no big deal--they just run your bags through the scanner).

I have arrived at Madrid from Seville but got out and took train to Toledo the next day. There was something tricky about this. I thought they left from the different floors. Perhaps Toledo train was at lower level than the other highspeed trains.
Here is the map.

And when you get to Toledo by train, be sure to look around their beautiful station.

Thanks. If anyone knows whether I should go upstairs or downstairs to get to the Toledo train, I'd love to know. I like to know what I'm doing. Greg, thanks for the link to the map, but I don't find it easy to follow.

I don't remember. I'd ask the ticket checker on the train (something I should have thought of, but I was enjoying my GinTonic)

After looking at TheManInSeat61, I'm pretty sure that the Toledo train in on the lower level (Planta 0 --the blue arrow) while the Cordoba train is on the upper level (Planta 1--the white arrow). TheManInSeat61 has a picture which shows the entrance to these platforms, at the south end of the old trainshed.
