train Avignon to Aix-en-provence
 
Hello,

Is there a train line between Avignon and Axi-en-provence? If there is how long would it take and what about the prices? Is there only a tgv-line and what about the timetables?

I think some trains go through Marseille, and others go to the Aix TGV stop and then you take a train into the city. I didn't go to Avignon, but had been researching it a bit last winter.

I would say it's around an hour, but check http://www.voyages-sncf.com.

There isn't any train to Aix station in the city itself from Avignon, there is no rail route. YOu have to go through Marseille and transfer there.

There is a TGV line from Avignon to Aix TGV station, but that is still outside the city and then you need to go by bus to Aix proper. That should still be quicker than going through Marseille, though.

23 mins from Avignon TGV station to Aix-en-Pro TGV station - about 50 miles but these trains top off at 186 mph on all-new tracks and rights-of-way. Like previous says each TGV station is a few miles outside of respective towns - shuttle buses and taxis meet each train. The Marseilles route would take a couple of hours probably. Aix and Avignon - two of Europe's finest old-world type towns. TGV trains run about hourly.
