Train and Tube from Heathrow to Central London
 

My friend will be staying at the Radisson Hotel at Heathrow and in London for 2 days in September. She wants to see the Tower, Westminister Abbey, and the British Museum. I have been to London and told her to take the train from Heathrow and then hook up with the Tube system. It's been awhile and I can't remember which stop that she gets off at to get onto the Tube.

Or take Heathrow Connect or Heathrow Express, which are obviously much faster to Paddington and then the tube from there.

Advise her to find a hotel in central London.

She'll be spending around 90 minutes each way travelling between LHR & the places she wants to visit - the HEX / HEC will not significantly make this any quicker as she'll then have to use the Tube to get to the British Museum etc

I have to agree with alanRow.

Staying at LHR for 2 nights almost NEVER makes sense. One night after a late flight, or before an early flight - sure. But not for 2 nights and using it as a base to see central London.

Unless she has prepaid - she might want to look for a different hotel for at LEAST one night.

But -- if she IS stuck staying out at LHR -- the very worst thing she could do is take the train to Paddington and then tube or a taxi from there.

She can take the tube right from LHR to central London for a tiny fraction of the money of the train+tube or train+taxi. And it will likely be just as fast - or even faster to get to a lot of places.

Use the tube, avoid the train and get a hotel in London if not prepaid at LHR.
