Train advice: Bologna - Innsbruck - Munich
 

Hi Everyone,
I'll be traveling from Bologna to Innsbruck on June 5 and from Innsbruck to Munich on June 9 (and flying to London from Munich Airport on June 12) and need some help...

1. Do I need to buy these tickets ahead of time?
2. Any suggestions on what site(s) to purchase these tickets from? Deutchebahn? Trenitalia? Raileuorpe.com? Will prices vary depending upon who I buy them from?
3. Should I buy these as two separate tickets or one ticket with a stopover in Innsbruck?

Unless there is some substantial discount involved in buying them or part of them on Trenitalia.com and bahn.de I would wait and buy them all at once at a train station in Italy

There's one direct Bologna-Innsbruck train a day, if that's the one you want you should use www.oebb.at as that s the operator.

Other services involve a change in Verona, so first book Verona-Innsbruck at www.oebb.at then book Bologna-Verona at www.trenitala.com.

Innsbruck-Munich book at www.oebb.at.

Why book in advance? It's cheaper. Though whether you think it's worth pre-booking to save on a relatively short trip depends on (a) what prices you see for your date and (b how much you care about the cost.

Bologna-Verona starts at €9 booked in advance, but is €23 full-price on the day.

I just purchased my ticket for the direct train between Bologna and Innsbruck. After purchasing, there is a paragraph that says the ticket must be printed on A4 size paper and that enlargements or reductions will not be accepted. I live in the United States and do not have access to A4 paper or printer--how should I handle this? Can I claim the ticket at Bologna Centrale?
