Trafalgar Sq/ Harrod's
 

Does anyone know how long a walk it is from Trafalgar Square to Harrod's? Or is there a better way to go? I'm still having problems judging distances. We leave in a couple of weeks so I won't be bothering you any more!

You'd want to walk from Trafalgar Sq. into St James's, and then to Knightsbridge - a long walk, it could take as little as an hour, but more like two at a leisurely pace. It would be a pleasant walk, and a great way to see London, if you are of the walking persuasion, however, other options would include buses, trains, or taxis.

It is about 2miles. It is a nice walk, and I totally agree with m_kingdom's suggested route. St. James's Park is my favorite park in London.

I must be a much faster walker. I'd estimate tht it would take 45-50 minutes at a good pace. The number 9 bus runs from the strand through Trafalger along Piccadilly and would take you into Knightsbridge almost to the door of Harrods.
You could walk down the Mall by Buckingham Palace along the side of Green Park and onto Knightsbridge. However navagating Hyde Park Corner would be not so nice- it's very busy.

It would be about a 45 or 50 minute walk for me. It would be lovely if the weather is nice. But you can also walk over to either Leicester Sq or Piccadilly Circus (both are just a short walk from Trafalagr Sq.) and hop on the tube to Knightsbridge (which has a "Harrods exit")

Thank you all so much for the info. It was very helpful. We've decided that if it's nice weather we'll walk one way and then take a bus or tube back. I was grateful to get that information also. Some of you mentioned St James Park. I hope some flowers or greenery will be out the first week in April. It sounds beautiful.

To be honest, it's much less hassle to get the tube. You'll be walking round Harrods for a while, examining the floors of luxury and quality, and you'll need energy for that.
