Traditional Pub Food in London

DH and I have a layover in London and are heading into the city for 6 hours. I've been several times, but DH hasn't. Therefore, we're just doing a Hop on Hop off bus tour (tickets purchased) and I'm trying to determine where to hop off and grab some lunch. Preferably, some type of traditional pub food (i.e., bangers and mash) for him to try. Any suggestions?

you will find pubs everywhere you jump off. I think the HOHO tickets get you a discount at some of pubs so you may want to try those.

Thanks jamikins!

Do all pubs serve food?

Most of them do, especially in the touristy areas you will be in. They will all have signs out front advertising food if they do.

A surprising proportion, even in the most touristy areas, still don't. But virtually all that do communicate the fact with big boards outside.

There really is very little point in giving recommendations. It's practically impossible to find great food, or anything poisonous, along these buses' routes.

Take a look at www.fancyapint.com for help finding a good pub along your route.

Yea, we're not expecting gourmet food :-)

Thank you all!!!

Almost every pub with food serves a hamburger, fish n chips, a steak, and a sandwich of some kind.

Thanks dorfan! I really want him to have an "authentic" pub experience...well, as authentic as we can find in touristy areas :-)
