Fodor's Travel Talk Forums - Trabocco Coast, Abruzzo

One of the highlights of my trip is having lunch on a trabocco. We were planning on staying overnight in Vasto, which seems like a lovely town and is about a 3.0 hour drive from Polignare a Mare, but some of the best Trabocchi are farther north, at least 35-40 minute drive from Vasto. I want to have a leisurely lunch and be able to take a taxi to and from the restaurant. Besides Vasto, what other towns up the coast between Vasto and Francavilla al Mare are worth spending the night? Or is the trabocco near Vasto (Trabocco Cungarelle) comparable to, say, Ristorante Trabucco Punta Fornace or Trabocco Valle Grande? TIA.
