Town near CDG
 

We need to drop off our rental car at CDG and are looking for suggestions of a town/city within an hour drive of the airport to spend the night before. We will probably be driving either from St Malo or Neufchatel-en-bray.

Auvers-sur-Oise - where Van Gogh lived the last months of his life - copies of his paintings posted where he did them -nice small village.

Senlis is sweet but on the other side of CDG.

Senlis makes much more sense. Auvers-sur-Oise is 28 kms Northwest of Paris. CDG is Northeast of Paris. To get to Auvers you'd have to traverse Paris or go around it. There's an easy bus between CDG and Senlis.

We stayed in Chantilly and visited the Chateau the day before our flight home.
