Tours of Windsoe Castle?

Has anyone had a tour of Windsor Castle? Do they do this year round or in May? I hears this was a must see.

I went to Windsor Castle last January, and they had the tours then - they run them year-round.

I loved the Castle and would highly recommend it. You take the train there from London - a very easy trip.

Enjoy England!

Just did a great tour last week. The Castle is open year-round.

If you're starting in London, I highly endorse Evan Evans Tours,

Go early to avoid the crowds.

Just be sure that you will get to see inside the castle. If the Queen is in residence you won't be able to do so. Our tour co. (forgot its name) must have known the Queen was there and knew we wouldn't have gotten to see the castle but they never told us until we arrived. We could only see the chapel, dollhouse, and grounds.

How do you find out in advance if the queen is in residence? We are planning on a visit to Windsor on our way back into London from the countryside, but if the queen is there, we may just as well go to Hampton Court....

Try checking the web site for the British monarchy:

There's another one for royal news, and once you're in England the Times carries a calendar of royal events that gives information on where the queen is apt to be.
