Made me laugh...but I hope it's not real. Didn't Jaime Oliver do an episode on Naked Chef where he prepared chipmunk!? (well my dog would enjoy it!)

Well I feel really cheated since I din't have an opportunity to sample either chipmunk or squirl while I was in London last week.

Please tell me a London restaurant that prepares squirrel well. And I need to know where to buy squirrel meat - fresh, frozen and dried. BTW, I never heard of chipmunk living in Europe. But maybe American students brought them because they do not like our native rats. |
Actually, there isn't anything dumb about it. I do the same thing when visiting Britain, and I'm not American :D.

I found this quite amusing, but I don't in any way it is a fair summary of the average American tourist. Similarly, Jeremy Clarkson has never let facts get in the way of a good argument. If the first 500 people in Las Vegas had all been able to name all the countries in Europe with the capital cities, it is still likely that not one of them would have appeared in the program.

Don't worry, the US are not alone. 40 years ago, there was much hillarity over a piece in a local paper in, I think, Leicester, from some people who'd taken sliced factory bread on their camping holiday in France, and congratulating the bakery that it was still fresh at the end of their two weeks.... |

Not to mention the various egg-and-chips and "Tea like mother makes" cafés in various popular seaside places in Spain. I don't doubt there are German, Dutch and Scandinavian equivalents in the the resorts they go to .

I agree with you about eating habits Many of my highly educated work colleagues are very worried about overseas travel because they might not be able to get "proper" food like beefburgers, KFC or fish fingers. |
