I honestly don't think you need the 2 day pass. There are 2 routes-the modern one is not that interesting!I always recommend to my friends to take the bus at night-Madrid looks beautiful with all the buildings lit up!

I agree with chapla about not needing a two day pass on the Madrid Hop-On Hop-Off buss. The main sights in Madrid are packed fairly close together (unlike Barcelona for example), and can bee "seen" in one day easily.
One case where a multiple day pass is desirable is if you want to actually "experience" the various destinations and use the bus as more of a transportation system. It can become fairly affordable compared to taxi's, and you know for a fact that it will take you to the tourist highlights of the city for your perusing.

Hola
I used the bus service and found it excellent. I agree with others. I don't think you'll need it for 2 days. Its main advantage is for a reconnaissance role. You'll get the gist of the layout and attractions and then for the remainder of your time in Madrid you can walk or take public transport.
