Touring Scotland

My daughter and I will be visiting friends in Scotland. They live near Edinburgh. What are some things to be sure and see and do near Edinburgh and Glasgow?

Nothing at all or everything.

Look at Fodors.com's information about Glasgow and Edinburgh, see what it points out, see what parts of that interest you, come back and discuss -- how can we know what you like or what interests you if you don't tell us?

The Falkirk Wheel, Roslyn chapel, New Lanark. You might want to read my trip report, even though it goes farther afield. Just click on my name to find it.

You are looking for things to do outside Edinburgh and Glasgow? Will you have a car or will you be taking public transportation? The more information you give the better the information you will get. Go to Stirling.

Do you know where exactly is "near Edinburgh"? Depending on how far you are from the city and in which direction it could make a difference. Trying to get across or around Edinburgh at the wrong time of day can be a nightmare.
