Touring Rome and Florence

am working in Italy and the moment and my family will join me from England for a short holiday here. I want to make this trip special and was looking for a private company that would be able to accomodate our need for tours in Rome and Florence. I found Miles&Miles private tours www.toursofrome.it on Tripadvisor and they had a great article on

they seem very professional. I have two kids 6 and 8 yrs old, as anybody toured with them as a family? Any help will appreciated.

Good morning,

I have been working with Context Tours for a private tour of the Vatican (in mid September). They have been extremely responsive, and have great tours listed on their site. The docent they have chosen for us has an amazing background in art and history and in fact has written her own guide book. If you search on this site for rome tours and rome tour guides, you'll get a lot of past posts on this subject. Good luck!

I used Context for 4 tours in Rome(including Pompeii) & 3 tours in Florence-we are not rich but I wanted to get it right the first time & fulfill my long-held dream of going to Italy so we used them, were very happy with the results & I will use them again, when I can get back(I swore it would be no later than next month but life happens & it will have to wait)-see other reviews of their tours and Good Luck
P.S. their best in Rome was to the Borghese-I still go over it in my head.

I too have used Context tours in Rome and found them to be wonderful. If you can afford their prices then go with them. There are many postings here from folks who were very satisfied. They are affiliated with a tour group in Florence. I can't remember the name but there is a link on the Context site.

Alternatively, for short tours within Rome at a more budget rate I've also used Enjoy Rome.

I can also highly recommend Context Rome. In 2006, I did four tours and all were excellent. I particularly loved the Caravaggio Seminar (which ended up being a private tour as only my sister and I were scheduled for that day!).
Another excellent company that I can recommend is Anno Domini Organization.
