Many others--I do see Gate 1 changed to say Central Europe.

Smart Tours and GCT are American companies. Ignoring the existence of Central Europe seems to be an American habit.

In addition to the Australian and UK companies I already posted, see: http://travel.saga.co.uk/holidays/ri...FB&duration=15

I don't think it is "ignoring" I just think it is more of a habit--everyone wants to be called something different as time evolves. In particular different ethnic backgrounds.

I guess you missed BigRuss' post:

"It IS Central Europe - if locals call it "Eastern" it's for the same reason outsiders may - Cold War alignments that have become geographic shorthands."

So it is reversion not evolution.

Yes I missed the post Re:Big Russ. I live on the EAST coast and I don't give a hoot if they call it the east or some other name. I NEVER thought of the Europeans taking offense to the cold war and that is why they did not like it. Never I only thought of it as a geographical issue. Well from now on I will refrain from calling those cities Eastern. I should know this as DH is Hungarian. He left at age 5--though with family.
