Touring Chianti and Tuscany on public transport
 

How much of Chianti can you see using public transport? I will be going and staying with friends in Tuscany. Friend has a car but also has two young children, husband and mother in tow. I want to strike out on my own without the car and kids. We are based in Panzanno near Greve in Chianti for a week. Any ideas and suggestions appreciated.
This is only part of my trip. I will add 12 days to the back of the trip to see Florence, Venice and Rome on my own.
