I haven't taken one with cookfrance, but recently saw this one that looked really interesting. There is also a woman named Madelaine Bullwinkle who runs cooking tours, but I can't seem to find her site or email address right now.

http://www.worldofleisure.com/AgencySpecials/Culinary_Tour.htm.shtml

Susan

I almost wish I couldn't answer this question, but it was up for discussion last night of all things!
Unfortunately, a friend of mine took a trip with them last year...only to leave 4 days early because the hotel was so bad and the woman (who runs these programs) left it to the chef to put the trip together, (which isn't always a chef's specialty.) She had never been to the area, and had not seen the 'remodeled' hotel... she arrived only days before the trip started, had not done the research, and when it rained, there was no contingency plan and throughout it was clear that it was not well organized. She was very hospitable, but clearly amateur and not up to the caliber of what was promised. She gave them some sort of credit towards a future trip, and it was the same scenario when they went. I saw the web site, and the 'vernacular' was great! But apparently the reality was not... my friends loved the chefs, but that was it. I hope this helped instead of hurt!?

I don't know who Melissa's "friend" is, but to my knowledge, no one has ever left a trip sponsored by Les Liaisons Delicieuses (www.cookfrance.com) early. I've been on five trips that they have arranged -- Dordogne, Burgundy, Jura, Grasse, and Brittany -- and all have been grand. If you want a trip where you really rub elbows with a Michelin-starred chef in their own kitchen, I'd consider one of their trips.
