I received a travel brochure from my alma mater:

Oct 9 - 17 "Village Life in the Dordogne" $2495 pp.

Looked up the airfare, the hotel and car rental for those dates.

DIY, including car rental, under $1900.

Interesting side note. Book flights on AirFrance - $815.
Book same flights through Delta, code share AF, $1134.
