Tour operators in Rome

Hi all,

Will be traveling to Rome this summer with husband and 2 children, 15 and 12. Wondering about different walking tour operators and tours.

We are thinking of doing a twilight walking tour with Walking Tours of Italy. And then booking another tour of the Vatican. Some people have recommended booking with ContextTravel and others a company called Through Eternity. Anybody have experience with any of these companies?

I'm not familiar with those, but you should look through this thread for some good suggestions-

I took a tour with Through Eternity and would definitely recommend them. The tour was excellent, with about 8 people on it. The guide was extremely knowledgeable. And the company was very easy to work with and communicate with. I really liked them. I'm going back in Sept and I'm already looking to decide between 2 others they offer. :)

We took a tour of Underground Rome through ContextTravel. It was a small group and the guide was very informative. It was one of the highlights of our trip in Rome. I will take another tour with them in May.

Whoops! I didn't read your original email carefully enough, Emily - my first trip to Rome I took a private tour at the Vatican with Context. They are also excellent! I agree with the comment above, the Context trip was a highlight of my trip and my friend and I still talk about it. Two great options.
