Tour of Jewish Budapest

My friend and I are going for the first time.; I do not want a walking tour but would rather have a small or private tour of Budapest, especially Jewish history and sights. Any suggestions? We are in mid 60's.

BUDAPEST MAIN SYNAGOGUE (on Pest Side) was a "must see" & offers a tour from a member of the Budapest Jewish Community. The synagogue is a huge structure & is beautiful. We were very glad we went to.

It was not a private tour, however it was a small group that assembled for the tour.

Right Next to the Synagogue is a Memorial for Hungarian Jews that were sent to the concentration camps.

The Ronald Lauder family was a big part of the existing memorial plaques & structures established next to the synagogue.

It was several years ago that I was there so do not remember which morning or times that the guided tour was, but I think it was listed on a sign outside of the synagogue. If you want a private tour perhaps someone at the Budapest Synagogue would be able to give you that information.
