Tour Guides Budapest and Prague
I just returned from a trip to Vienna, Budapest and Prague. I hired Bela Lukacs-
[email protected] -and he was terrific. He provided a transfer from Vienna to Budapest with a last minute side trip to Herend and also one from Budapest to Prague. We were three people and the cost was equal to or less than taking the train and also much more convenient and faster as well. He also provided tours within Hungary and made them enjoyable and interesting. His English is excellent, he is very flexible, and he was fun to be with. He is not only a driver but a knowledgeable guide as well.
In Prague we used Elaine's recommendations of Wittman Tours - www.wittman-tours.com - and Dana Chaloupka (private guide) - [email protected] - or [email protected] . Both provided excellent tours. (Thanks Elaine.)
We used Cedaz Ltd. for a transfer to the airport. Their rates were very good. You can reach them at (+420)220 114 296 or 224 281 005 or e-mail at [email protected] .

thanks for the info. I just e-mailed Bela to see if he could set up a private tour for us from Budapest to Vienna for a day. He sounds like a great guide. We were just in Russia and hired a private driver/guide for the day-works great.

I recommend that you email Bela and ask him what the cost would be. Each trip is different and is based on the car being used and the length of your trip. We were 3 people with a lot of luggage and needed a van for the transfers. However, in Hungary we were able to use a smaller car for the tours we took. His cost for the transfers was less than taking the train and so much more convenient. The cost for the tours depends on the length of time you take.

Bela Lukacs....I will be a free floating female going through Budapest and Prague. Thank you for your insights, I can't believe what a resource this is to travel planning--how did I do it in 1989 without this kind of information available. My question is: is it safe to cruise around alone with just the tour guide? Did he tour you in all 3 places? Is Budapest and Prauge that close that he can drive you to both? I can't wait, I leave November 6th, it sounds ideal. Please advise. Aloha
