Tour Guide in Paris

I will be in Paris (first time) in October 2007. We are only spending 2 days in Paris and think that engaging a private tour guide might allow us to see the key sites easier? Comments/suggestions?

I know there are a lot of posts on this. Search the site for paris tour guide and you are likely to find everything you want to know.

I think the bus tour would be sufficient. I would stay on the main route and have a few key places selected that you want to get off and see.

Do a search here for Michael Osman, he has been used by a few people here.

The are bus tours, boat tours and walking tours of Paris. All could be done in a 2 day period.

The best, cheapest, funnest way is to do the iJourneys.com Paris iPod walking tour. You get a complete and unique experience on the left Bank, see the big stuff, go underground and see off the beaten path stuff...as well as great cafe recommendations, info, tips and history. I highly recommend. My husband and I have been taking these walks with us for $14.95 !!!!! for the past couple of years and they are the best. even better than a private tour guide and obviously psychotcally cheaper.

Actually, the cheapest way is to do it yourself with a bus pass tinyurl.com/ovpaw and a tour guide, many of which are free at http://tourisme.fr

Thanks for your comments - the iPod sounds interesting, I will research more.
And hello to a fellow Canadian.
