Tour groups in Rome..Beware
 

It is so important to find the right tour group to show you the sights of Rome.We ended up using the best and worst. You can't go wrong with Dark Rome Tours which have many wonderful tours through out the day. BUT be very cautious of Caput Mundi Tours which were horrible in our experience. We must have had the worst guide in all of Rome for the Vatican.When we went back to speak with a manager they just put us off. So beware and do some research.

Thanks Big Russ.  Trip Advisor has a major presence in Italy and hotels, restaurants, tour companies take their rating VERY seriously. Dark Rome uses enthusiastic, informed guides. They, like several other tour companies were highly rated. Caput Mundi Tours was not listed and we payed the price of getting a guide who was terse, unprofessional, and totally uninterested in making our Vatican experience a good one. Since they are not on TripAdvisor they could care less about feedback. So use the power of the Internet to help plan a great trip!

Sorry to hear that...we used Walks of Italy and they were terrific....especially for the Vatican museums.

So now I'm curious as to how you found caput Mundi? I've been on Fodor's for many year and have never heard of this company. Many others get recommended here all the time.

Personally, I have used Context Tours in Rome for two different tours and found them worth every penny. Can't wait for my next trip to Italy and I'll use them again.
