I m going to wash the estage n 18 of the tour de france ,Pau-bagneres de luchon, i alreday rented an hotel at 20 km from bagneres de luchon "pena" ,somebody can give any recomendation regarding ,best place to see the race and take pictures , better time to be at the road for better wash,etc. also would like to know if at night the ciclist are walking around the town or they sleep far from the there ,any opinion or recomendation will help ,its my first time in europe and im going with my family ,they gonna follow my passion for the ciclism.

You said stage "18", but you probably meant stage 16 on July 18. Is that correct? Stage 16 would be much more preferable to watch since it's in the mountains.

Depending on exactly where you're staying, the Col du Peyresourde or the Col d'Aspin would be the best places to watch the stage.

As for your other question: most of the pros will not be walking around town at night. They'll be at their hotels, resting for the next stage. Since the following stage also starts in Bagnères du Luchon, most teams will probably be staying in town or very nearby.

your right is stage 16,im sorry, that is truth that they close the roads days before the race?, i already has the "hotel pena" in arros to sleep (20 km from the end but in oposity direction of pau),i will be arriving to the mountains on the 17 because i just came from US to bercelona on 16, at what time its recomended to be at side of the road in the car i will rent?, i could go the day i arrive but really gonna be very tired,but if its necesaries let me know please,so far thank you for your help im feeling a littler lest alone now.

The road may be closed to cars the day (or more) before the race, but certainly the morning of the race. Pedestrians and cyclists will still be able to walk or ride on the course until about an hour before the caravan comes through. There are normally temporary road signs on the route that tell you when the road will close. If the crowds and traffic seem like they are getting to large, the police might close the roads even earlier. The best thing to do would be to check the detailed status once you arrive in the region.

It's not recommended that you drive onto the course, but rather approach the course from the side. You'll need to be on course at least a few hours before the caravan arrives. Check out the blog post again. There are specific details on how to plan.
