Tour D'Argent/Tallevent without alcohol
We will be in Paris to celebrate my fiftieth birthday and are considering a special restaurant. Having read posts concerning the price of these two restaurants I wondered what amount of the cost was represented by wine.
What might be the price neighborhood for four eating dinner at one of these restaurants with no alcohol? Just looking for an estimate.
Thanks.

Lovely url Neopolitan!
At Taillevent I choose the artichoke soup (40E); John Dory Fillet (94E) and the gnocchi and olive oil sorbet (28E).
$162...
the Tour D'Argent choices seemed less expensive, but not by much because (heathen that I am) I don't like duck!

I've been to Taillivent, but not to Tour d'Argent. While Taillivent was wonderful and special, I didn't think it was wonderful and special enough to be worth the increased prices between there and restaurants we've eaten at that have two Michelin stars. I would suggest considering a special restaurant that's not going to have you gasping for breath at the prices (or causing you to skip wine, if you usually drink wine).

Hi DR,
If high prices would force you to have dinner at one of these two restaurants without wine, I suggest Taillevent's 70E fixed price lunch at 70E pp + wine.
Please note that Tour d'Argent has been reduced to 1 *.
