Tour company reccomendations

I have been talking with Audley Travel about a trip to Great Britain. Does anyone here have experience with them.

I do not have experience with Audley. They are a company based in the UK. Their reputation is good, but they are very expensive.

Tell us why you want a group tour and where you want to go. Most of the travelers here are independent travelers. It is very easy to travel the UK independently.

Custom tour operators

Senior couple wants 3 weeks to see Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh and London. While we are experienced travelers we are looking for a custom tour operator to put this together for us.

Everyone hear seems to think Rabbie's small-group tours are great - seem to have tours in all those places.

The OP has started another thread https://www.fodors.com/community/eur...ators-1666333/

Slightly more info but still we need a bit more info why they think a tour operator is best.

Pal has already recommended Rabbies (not sure that he has any experience with them). Rabbies is very good - but they certainly are not in the same stratosphere as Audley. Like apples and oranges --

Audley is high quality and quite expensive. I talked with them about help in planning a trrip but was shocked by their prices.

Did you settle on a different company. I've done my own planning for so many years and am simply tired of it.

I've known someone who has used Black Tomato and recommends them. Not knowing your budget, I believe they are $$$$

I've recently come across this company, though have no idea how good they are. Jubel.co

Give us a hint what sort of budget you have. A true private tour can be 'eye wateringly' pricey.

The recommendation for Rabbies is good - for either their off-the-shelf tours which are small groups and cheap to moderately priced depending on the level of accommodations you choose . . . OR . . . they can work out a personal itinerary for a fraction the cost of Audley.

These are not home to home group tours including international airfare and such, but land based tours. You might need to look at doing three separate off-the-shelf tours or contact them for help on a private tour/itinerary.

I mentioned three separate Rabbies tours because on your other thread you listed England, Scotland AND Ireland . . .

See my post on your other thread . . .

Since you now mention traveling alone, look at Rabbies private tours.

(I'd ask the moderators to merge the two threads because you are giving dribs/drabs of new info on each one.)

Brendan does customized tours of the UK and Ireland, so that might give you another alternative. They offer a private-chauffeur option, which is expensive but well-regarded.

Nope but constant superlatives about them from you I take to heart and others too - what's wrong with that?

The same way you'd contact any tour company -- through their website https://www.brendanvacations.com

Last Fall we had an excellent experience with McKinlay Kidd. We did 10 nights in Scotland (independently). Fairly priced and they handled everything from soup to nuts. Might be worth checking out:
