Tour Companies in London

We're staying in London for 7 days and want to locate a good tour company for 1 day trips to see sites outside of London. Any recommendations? We've searched the web and found one at www.octopustravel.com. Is this a good one to use?

Thanks

Depends where you want to go. Evan Evans is good, and Astral Travels runs outstanding tours from London to the Salisbury/Stonehenge area.

I took an Evan Evans day tour to Bath & Stonehenge and really enjoyed it. Check out londontown.com for a variety of day tours.

London Walks does daytrips to several areas and tends to have less expensive tours. I enjoyed the Salisbury/Stonehenge daytrip this spring.

Another vote for London Walks. They do a very good job - well worth it.

Many day trips out of London are easy enough to do on your own as well. You could go at your own pace and save loads of money.

Some very easy day trips include Windsor, Hampton Court Palace, Salisbury/Stonehenge, Canterbury, Oxford, Brighton, Leeds Castle, Warwick Castle, Stratford on Avon... These are all easily accessible by train or bus.
