tour and restaurant advice

First, thank you .....I'll be spending 11 nights in Italy in June. I would not have been able to pull it all together without this site.....That being said has any one booked a tour in Rome with Scala Reale? Also, suggestions regarding restaurants in Rome and Florence. Looking for friendly, lively places with good food.
thanks
Deborah

deborah: post your question with a better title and you wil likely get better responses. "tour and restaurant advice" could be ANYWHERE in the world - well actually anywhere in Europe since you are on teh Europe board.

You have some very specific questions so put the info in your title (clicking on "Italy" doesn't do it)

Good resturants in Rome?
Thousands, ask locally when you get to an area, stay away from the facy hotel resturants as they are mostly rip offs. Small local places are the best. Never eat in the hotel you are staying as they will rip you off. Good luck, Buck

There really are literally hundreds of answers to this question (restaurants) on this forum, and plenty of them are fresh info. I don't there are any "mega-threads" which list the URLs for the "best of" Rome restaurant suggestions. Any one else feel like compiling?

In the meantime, I will throw out the same two recomendations I have often made before: Le Volte (near the Pantheon), and Osteria la Carbonara, at Campo d. Fiori.

Best wishes,

Rex
