Toulouse Breakfast Restaurants

We'll be staying just off Place du Capitole in Toulouse.

Rather than have breakfast in the hotel we'd probably prefer to eat at several breakfast restaurants in the area if there are any.

Any suggestions?

There aren't really restaurants just for breakfast that I know of, but there are many cafes in that area, I'd just look around when you get there. It really depends what you require, also, some of those cafes will mostly service the continental breakfast, of course (crossant, etc), the FLorida. But usually you can order eggs. The ones right on that place are more expensive than some nearby off it, of course (at least the bigger ones, there are couple small simple places, also, like DOnjon Cafe). The ones off place Wilson, nearby, are a bit cheaper I think, for a full meal. There's a bakery nearby on rue Lafayette (inbetween Capitole and Wilson) called 3 Brioches.

Not really sure what a "breakfast restaurant " is - is this a US thing? For sure you wil, find plenty of local cafes where you can get a coffee and some croissant and jam. IME breakfast is not a big deal in France

There is, for good or ill, a McDonald's on Place Capitole. It may serve breakfast, although not all McDo's in France do.

You mentioned you're staying just off the Place. Hotel Albert 1er by any chance? I haven't stayed there since they remodeled and almost doubled their prices. The breakfasts used to be average, at best.

No, it's not a U.S. thing.

Actually, we're eaters of a large breakfast.

Coffee, maybe juice, croissant, pain au chocolate or similar a fruit, etc.

Last time we were in Paris a couple of years ago we had breakfast at a croissanterie on Saint Germain des Pres.

I'll take a note of the ones Cristina mentioned. Thanks.

Cathi,

We're staying at Hotel de l'Opera on the corner of the square.

I think we got a great rate. Hopefully we're not sleeping in a back alley.

It should be very nice, I think posters on here have stayed there, great location. I've walked past it many times but haven 't stayed there.

I'd check out the hotel breakfast but if not to your liking there are cafes all over.

The hotel I mentioned is actually still fairly good value, given its location.
