Yes, but we're intending to stay there Wednesday night to make sure we get our plane out on Thursday, the next strike day. We're at the Campanile, not noted for much other than being within walking distance of the airport - which was blocked by strikers a few days ago. Not looking forward to it though.

A late thank you for all your ideas. We booked the Albert 1er based on advice here.
Will get bus in from airport (early evening arrival) stay overnight, see a bit of Toulouse, and (following Stu Dudley's advice from another post) rent car at the rr station for rest of time in france. Kevin, did you go yet? how was the hotel? |
Hi Cali -
The Albert 1er was absolutely fine. Clean, comfortable room. Nice and attentive desk staff. Didn't eat breakfast there so can't comment. Best of all was the location. Easy walk to everything we wanted to see in Toulouse... - Kevin |
Cali - i agree with kevin - the Albert 1er is fine.
we did have breakfast on the 2nd day, and wished we'd had it on the first. very good value with freshly squeezed orange juice, a "boil your own egg" machine, bread, toast, coffee, croissants... it's about a 15 minute level walk to the RR station. |
Annhig -
Now you are making me feel like I missed out. Next time we'll splurge on the breakfast ! -Kevin |
actually, kevin, for what we got it didn't seem too much of a splurge - which was why we were cross with ourselves for not eating it the day before.
this led to the inaugauration of a new Mr. & Mrs. Annhig travel rule - always have the hotel breakfast on the first day, not the last! |
Kevin and Ann, thank you for the updates!!
Ann, that's a smart neew rule! Thanks for the rec to have breakfast. What the heck, it'll be our first morning in France!! Besides, I'm intrigued by the "boil your own egg" machine. Have seen a "make your own waffle" thingie, but not an egg equivalent |
we'd never seen the egg "thingy" either. i can't even remember how it worked - but the egg was ok!
|
Glad to hear the egg was ok, Ann, 'cause i've imagined a new dish called Oeufs Explosifs
