I presume that most of you are watching the news with extra vigilance these days and have seen the footage of the huge explosion in Toulouse, but in case anyone is headed there and hasn't seen it, the airport is closed, among other things.
A fertilizer factory exploded there yesterday morning aroung 10:30 a.m., local time. Twenty-nine people are known to have died. More than 1,100 have been treated for injuries; 365 or so are still in the hospital, 30 of whom are in critical condition. The explosion has closed a number of schools, and bus transportation in the city is limited as a number of the city's buses were destroyed in the explosion. Getting into and out of the city by car is problematic. French authorities are calling it an accident until their investigative teams have evidence otherwise.
