We will be in Torremolinos next year in the off-season (early November), staying at the Bajondillo. Hotel is on the Paseo or promenade, (recently rebuilt), connects a few of the beaches, but in the off season the bars and tapas places along the Paseo will probably be closed. Beaches in the area are Blue Flag, (the best). Smack in the center of the Costa del Sol - humming in the warm weather. All rooms have balconies, cooking facilities and one bedrooms are available. Our 3 meals will be buffet style and there is a bar and nightly entertainment we understand. Hope this was of some value to you!!!

You may want to consider staying in Marbella, a bit more upscale than Torremolinos. If I remember correctly, it's about a 30 nimute drive west. We were on a budget and had a great time at the Forte Hotel there. In the evenings, the Plaza de los Noranjos (?) is within walking distance for window shopping and dessert. Puerto Banus is a beautiful town another 15 minutes or so west.

My husband and I used to spend many winter months at the Bajondillo and considered ourselves very fortunate to HAVE FOUND such a wonderful winter retreat, finding so many new friends, enjoying the evening entertainment, sometimes hosted by Doreen Chown, a great place for walkers also on the promenade. Although you may find the hotel a bit worn IT IS NOT THE RITZ but very adequate and the ambiance is wonderful. If you approach it with an open mind and good spirit, you will probably love it. We always traveled with large groups of Grand Circle travelers from ;the states and as mentioned, so glad we found the place. Happy traveling. |
