"So, imhornet, if you don't fly Air Canada, on what do you base your judgement that a 2 hour transfer is "highly risky"?"

I avoid Air Canada, as do a lot of people, because they have the nastiest, rudest personnel in the aircraft industry. You won't have to search hard to find the many hoprror stories about having to deal with them.

They are a pedatory company that drives other airlines out of business with cut rate fares and then skyrockets the fares when the competition is gone. They were given a monopoly on thr promise theey wouldn't raisde fares. They immediately broke their promise. My *former* experience with them is also very bad as far as on tiome is concerned.

As far as your timing is concernied, you will doubtless fly into Toronto to Terminal 2. To fly to Europe, you will likely fly out of the new Terminal 1. This means finding and catching a catching a shuttle bus. Estimating time fior this is hard.

Terminal 1 is very large so you will have a long walk. It is also horrobly signed, so finding your way wll not be easy. Add on the extra time for security.

The odds are in your favor, but that doesn't mean that there is substantial risk. The key variable in considering transfer time is what happens if you miss your flight. If there's another one 2 hours later, then I'm willing to risk a short connection. But if you are gouing to Europe, then it's a different story. I would not take the risk you are takling and stuck possibly being stranded all day or overnight.

One final note. A 2 hour connection is not 2 hours. It is 1:50 to 1:55. They close the door 5-10 minutes before actual departure time. I know. I once made an Air Canada flight only by 8 minutes, only to be told that they wouldn't let me in.

Like I said, the odds are in your favor. If the flight from Seattle is 40 minutes late, you're down to 60-40. I wouldn bet my trip to Eurpe on Air Canada being thay good.

Also, don't know how long customs/immigration line will be. It can be a very long delay if you happen to arrive at the same time as many other flights. 30-40 minutes is possible. And agents can chose to give you a hard time whenever they want.
