I am a 53 year old woman, am in decent shape for someone my age, am not uncomfortable nudity,

cindyma- small minds are nothing to get worked up about. Perhaps NorthShore's experience with naked bodies is limited to what they see on TV and does not know how to appreciate the natural form. Also, it seems that they are assuming that nudity should be constantly sexy. That is not the case.

Visual pollution? Jeez! You know, something like 20 percent of Americans are obese...excuse me if I bare my petite 54-year-old top on a European beach without shame or concern about pollution. I like that total tan for one thing, and it feels good for another. Believe me, I wouldn't do it if I had major body image problems or thought people would be upset about it.
And while we're at it, anyone ever witnessed Germans on holiday in North Africa? Hordes of huge, white, pasty flesh bared to the bones on beaches, drinking beers at 10 in the morning while local Arabs glide by fully robed. Talk about insensitivity!

Personally, I don't see the point in topless sunbathing. One reason why expose that skin to the harmful rays of the sun? However, that is my opinion and I feel if you are comfortable with it then go for it, who are we to judge.

I do know that some tourists love going to the nude beaches and gawking and laughing at those that aren't in the best of shape and are partially or totally nude...and no I am not one of them.

So many people go through life worrying what others think of them.
