Topic Select Restored!
Hello All --

It's our great pleasure to announce that we've restored the Topic Select function. This allows you to access threads whose original posters selected one or more topics ("Italy," in the Europe forums, for example, or "Maryland," in the U.S. forums) when submitting their messages.

Topic Select is located in "Sort By," in the left-hand frame, above the first thread. Depending on the forum you're in, click on "country," "state," or "topic." A window will open in the right frame. Choose one or more topics, and then click "Submit." To choose multiple topics, hold down the Control key and use your mouse to click on the desired topics.

Oh yes, one other thing. We've rearranged things technically so that you can again control the font size.

Thanks again for all your feedback.

Yours truly,

Danny Mangin
Editorial Director

Aisling Brennan
Senior Producer

Well done!!

A small gift from the fine folks at Fodors.
|
Thank you! This makes searches even easier.

I must have missed something somewhere, but how do I control the font size? The right-hand frame has reverted to large font, and I prefer it to be the same as the left-hand frame.
|
You have control over font size in YOUR browser. Look under "Edit". You can also control the right and left frames independently. Click in the one you want to make larger or smaller.

The hello all appears here too.

I must be being particularly dense.

Where is "Sort By" in the left hand frame?

Good Morning, Sheila
This thread started when the new and improved forum was launched. I also did a doubletake when I saw this.

It is a rainy, cool morning here. I call these types of days, my Maine days. Does that describe your weather this time of year?

A friend of mine who has literally traveled the world claims Ireland is the most beautiful place. What is the terrain like where you are from.
Cheers!
Gigi

Gigi

You are absolutely right. And in a different way than I meant, I AM being particulraly dense this morning.

However, this may because I have been "put off my stot" (as we say here) by the fact that the sun is out, the birds are singing, it's definitely warm (by our standards at least)and I have a day of cooking and cleaning ahead- which for me is serious light relief.

Our weather is so ecelctic that we don't really categorise things on a seasonally basis any more. At this time of year we can have all four seasnons in one day.

Ireland is pretty; but it can't compete with the grandeur that some of Scotland conjures up. Here in Aberdeenshire it is all lowland fields and rolling hills; but that should not be mistaken for, say the Cuillin of Skye.

Why not come and see for yourself?

Scotland sounds lovely. There is an Aberdeen South Dakota that we passed once on our way cross country. As I recall. it also has rolling plains that end abruptly when it meets the Missouri river. Then, it erupts into high cliffs. It was a misty, green morning as we headed to the Badlands. I found it to be quite lovely. I wonder is a Scot is responsible for that settlement.

A day of sunshine and work at home sounds quite nice. After the stress of a busy week it is about the nicest kind of day I can have. Plus, it is time to get at my flower beds. I have a pretty large area for perennials that I best get at.

Have a lovely day, Sheila.

Oh whew! Thanks for the heads-up about the date of the post, Gigi. I was getting a headache from looking so hard for the topic select feature :-)
