Top Tips for Iceland Travel

Hi,

I just wrote top tips for traveling to Iceland based on our 2 week experience in August. The first week of our trip was focused on backpacking the highlands area - Landmannalauger, Thorsmork area. The second week consisted of driving around the entire island and stopping to hike in the beautiful East Fjords.

I will also be posting how much we spent in two weeks traveling within Iceland.

Thank you,
Shru

Just a hint -- many people won't click on 'blind' links from brand new members.

Thanks for those.

Hiking tip #11 - no matter how well equipped you are be psychologically prepared to get wet. I've never seen rain like we did in that very area.

Hi janisj,

Thanks for the tip! I am a new member here so I am still learning the forum rules. I will try to edit the link.

Thanks!

Just copy the text and paste into the box, check that paragraphs stay as you want them as lots of text is hard to read. Easy Peasy. Welcome!

Oh -- it really isn't 'rules'. It is just that many Fodorites have posted that they will no open a 'blind' link - especially if they don't know the poster. You didn't do anything 'wrong' . . . but just to get more people to read your blog trip report -- next time maybe do a copy/paste of a segment like bilbourgler describes.

But hey -- now you are a 'regular' -- so all's good
