Top restaurant recommendations
 

We (two adults, two children) will be in Milan, Como, Venice and Verona in March and would love to hear your top restaurant recommendations. Mostly looking for moderately priced, but a couple of special nights out would be nice. Thank you.

Moderately priced means different things to different people. It helps if you provide your price range per head (in Euro's ideally).

That's like asking what are the best restaurants in the eastern USA, for medium price. How could one even begin unless you give, not only price, but also what you like to eat. Will your party eat everything or are they fussy eaters? Do they want pizza and pasta only? Do they like meat or fish, or both?
Realizing that I know nothing about your taste, I will tell you that these are two excellent traditional Veronese restaurants; the menus list prices, and there will be daily specials. The polenta is essential to try at Via Stella, and their 'veal leaver" Veeteto style is great, too.. Al Pompiere is good for salumi and other things.

eksrunchy: Thanks for the ideas. We like pretty much everything (probably won't be trying horsemeat though), would've been more specific otherwise. Really just looking for dining experiences that really stand out to you. Not looking to get so specific on price, like I said, some splurges are in order.

happytrvlr: Como, the city. Not sure what other towns we'll visit around the lake yet, so just asking about Como.

Just from my personal experience, many dining standouts have been unplanned, pleasant surprises. There can be so many serendipitous elements like one great waiter, an amazing but seasonal dish, conversations with other diners (esp. locals), etc., that most restaurant recommendations couldn't anticipate. For me anyway, it's not just about the food.
