Top attractions in Budapest?

My company is sending me to Budapest in January (brrrrr!). What are some of the things I should see in the city? I know absolutely nothing about Budapest.

Before arriving, read a bit of a couple of travel books; my favorite is that of Rough Guide. Also, check out the posts/threads in this forum going back a few months for responses to similar questions.

After arriving, start with a 1/2 day sightseeing tour given by a company using multi-lingual guides, not tapes. From there, what to do depends on your time and interests. There is plenty to fill your days and evenings happily.
