Top 5 for Rome/Venice
Hi Everyone!
I'll be traveling to Rome and Venice for two days/two nights each in April. Can people share their top 5's that we should do while at these locations? thanks so much |
click on destinations above and navigate to the cities you mentioned. I will layout the top things to see. Also good guidebooks will give you the same information.

Thank you sandi,
I have looked at many destination guides and have a few books to bring with me that i'm sure will be helpful. I'm looking for personal favorites not the views of guidebooks. thanks |
We were in Rome last week. Top 5 things we enjoyed:
1) Wandering around the streets, especially near the Piazza Navona and Spanish Steps 2) Scavi tour 3) Tour of Colosseum and Roman Forum 4) Seeing the lights of Rome from a villa overlooking the city. 5) Sistine Chapel/St. Peter's and more . . . Borghese Gardens, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Castel St. Angelo. It would be hard for you to do all of these things in only two days, so you'll have to choose. We LOVE Rome (this was our second trip). |
Rome essentials:
1. Vatican 2. Colloseum/Forum 3. Galleria Borghese Venice essentials: 1. San Marco Venice is more relaxing because it has fewer "must sees." After research, I came up with 27 churches in Rome that I really really wanted to see. I think I got to 9 of them. |
For me ,in Rome it will be :
1. Trevi fountain 2. Wandering in the Piazza Navona-Pantheon zone. 3. Window watching (or shopping !) on Via del Corso and the streets leading to the Spanish Steps (have a coffee at Caffe Greco). 4. Colosseum 5. Vatican (but this is a time consuming activity !) Venice 1. St Marks 2. Rialto Bridge (specially in the morning when they are setting the market) |
Thank you for your replies!

The thing is, the top 5 vary according to ones personal interests...A history buff, art lover, foodie and religious pilgrim would all have different top 5s.
