Madrid - Prado, bus/walk up the Castellana from the Prado, Royal palace, Plaza Mayor and Plaza Santa Ana area at night. El Escorial - fabulous monastery, resting place of Spanish kings/queens and princes - Franco,s Cathedral to Fascism is a short bus ride away - amazing and awful at the same time. Segovia (Alcazar, Roman Aqueduct and the Cathedral)food - judiones and suckling pig - great night life. Salamanca - older Uni than Oxford and Cambridge and great night life, too. Toledo - 3 cultures in one city. Ronda - beautfiul town with an old bullring and museum - contrary to popular belief it's not quite the oldest one in Spain. Seville. Granada. If you're going to travel around a bit, why not saty in a parador - they have great offers.

Good luck

Alun

(sitting in the historic lounge in the hotel, drinking a brandy and gazing out at the circle of mountains around you.
8)Driving the backroads in early July when the sunflowers are in full bloom.
9)Cordoba and Seville !
10)Finding a great seafood restaurant where you choose the fish/seafood you want and they cook it for you while you watch!
Enjoy
