Too hot in greece last half of June?

I am planning to cruise from Venice to Athens June 18 -30.. Will this be uncomfortably hot? I know August is but I am hoping to have nice weather, not too hot or cool.

Thanks for your input.

We were in Greece in late June through early July in 2004. I think we had weather between 80 and 95. We spent a whole week on the islands, though, where it was always very comfortable. The only time in 2 weeks I remember being uncomfortably hot was hiking up to the Acropolis and touring Olympia. Both experiences proved to be lifetime memories, so the heat wasn't that bad. I don't know your age or degree of heat toleration, but I think you'll enjoy that time of year in Greece. There were not a lot of tourists, like in August. My only strong suggestion is to make sure you have air conditioned hotel rooms. You just never know when a heat wave will strike....

Ditto on the June/July weather. We had only one very uncomfortable day. The rest (3 weeks) in both Greece and Turkey were quite comfortable!

Don't worry about the weather. Your time is more important. Ascertain usual weather in your travel 'window'. Equip yourself with suitable clothing/equipment.

Thanks to all of you for your kind responses. since I live in a very hot and humid climate (SW of New orleans), I try to avoid hot vacations. So with your reassurances I will be booking my trip tomorrow!

Eloise is right - Greece tends to have a very dry kind of heat. You can get great respite by finding a shady spot, so you'll probably love it.

yep, compared to somewhere like Bangkok, it's VERY dry

London seems more humid than Greece on a hot day

Don't know about Jupiter, but Greece does have dry heat. It hardly ever rains during the summer months, and humidity in Jun is actually lower than somewhere like St Louis, MO or Columbus, OH (yes, I looked up the stats).

Nancy, I have lived on the Gulf Coast too, and can assure you that in comparison, you will find the weather in Greece very pleasant.
